The Travel Smart Plan Program

The Travel Smart Plan is a comprehensive and competitive insurance option with increased benefits. It includes Classic Vacations Change & Cancellation Waiver as outlined below. Classic's waiver price protects your reservation and allows you to change or cancel for any reason.*

What is Covered

  • Hotel, air and rental-car price increases (unless you make a change that results in a higher price and is subject to the restrictions below)
  • Airline change or cancellation penalties (maximum of two change fees per person, per booking on published airfares are covered)
  • Hotel change & cancel fees, with some exceptions
  • Tours & activities change or cancellation fees if cancelled 24 hours prior to scheduled use
  • Classic Vacations change or cancellation fees prior to travel for any reason, except for restrictions noted below.
  • If you return early from your vacation(s) Classic Vacations will refund all unused portions of hotel and car rental components originally purchased through Classic Vacations if minimum stay requirements have been met per contract and/or rules per destination

Plus:

  • Refund on published air if you cancel for any reason (75% of cost of published air ticket if cancelled 48 hours or more prior to departure)1
  • Covers pre-existing medical conditions
  • No price differences based on age
  • Travel Guard insurance coverage (see below)
  • Worldwide travel assistance
  • Travel medical assistance
  • Changes that result in the booking not meeting minimum package requirements which vary by supplier and destination
  • Client initiated requests to change flights provided as a part of carrier schedule change
  • No refunds are allowed on unused portions of airline tickets
  • Routing and/or class of service changes are not permitted, once travel has commenced

What is Not Covered

  • Maximum 2 change fees per person per booking on published air are covered with the purchase of the Travel Smart Plan
  • No shows, missed flights, name changes, lost or stolen tickets, or denied boarding due to late arrival or inadequate travel documentation
  • Air routing changes or refunds on unused portions of airfare
  • Baggage charges
  • Tax increases, surcharges, and resort fees
  • Frequent flier redemptions or redeposit fees
  • Client-initiated changes that result in fare or accommodation cost increases
  • Changes in occupancy for shared accommodations
  • Private jet charters, yachts, cruises, and most villas

Change & Cancellation Fees

Unless the Travel Smart Plan™ program is purchased at the time of booking, all passenger-initiated changes will be subject to Classic Vacations' change and cancellation fees, which are:

  • $50 per adult up to 31 days before departure
  • $100 per adult 30 days or less before departure
  • In addition, fees or penalties charged by other providers (hotel, airline, etc.) will apply
  • Published air is non-refundable
