Santo Domingo City Tour

This excursion is provided by Club Caribe. During the tour, enjoy the countryside, as you travel past the native towns and villages of the zone. When you arrive in the capital city, visit the Columbus Lighthouse, built in 1992, where the remains of Admiral Christopher Columbus rest. Stop at the national palace and follow with a panoramic tour of the modern city. Afterwards, enjoy a native lunch at a restaurant that includes a beverage. Following lunch, there is a visit to the colonial zone of the first city of America, founded in 1498. In this sector, explore its principal historic landmarks: The Alcazar, residence of Diego Columbus, the son of the Discoverer, where you will be able to appreciate the sumptuous lifestyle of the colonial era; the National Pantheon and the oldest Cathedral of the continent. (It is customary for both gentlemen and ladies to cover shoulders and knees when entering the Cathedral). Afterwards, a visit to the Modelo marketplace is ideal for buying local handcraft. A visit to the pedestrian street, El Conde, makes use of free time for shopping. After this visit, you will be provided your return to the hotels.
