Historical Valley and City
See two of the most popular spots Maui has to offer, the Iao Valley and the city of Lahaina, on this unique experience. The broad green plain between the magnificently sculpted Kahalawai (West Maui Mountains) and the massive slopes of Haleakala gave Maui its nickname, "The Valley Isle." The highlight of the Iao valley is the famous 'Iao Needle, a 1,200-foot green monolith. However, the real splendor of the valley has been carved over the course of 10,000 lifetimes by the forces of wind and water and the flow of 'Iao's waters. From the valley you travel into historic Lahaina Town where you can explore shops, museums and a myriad of eateries in this quaint whaling town of yesteryear. Once the capital of Hawaii and the seat of power of the Kamehameha dynasty, Lahaina is now a small bustling little town.
