Mega Yacht
The definition of a Mega Yacht varies significantly, however most have come to agree that a Mega Yacht is a vessel that is over a certain number of feet (typically over 150ft). The size is usually co-related to the number of cabins as well. Sometimes vessels are categorized as Mega Yachts due to their fame and glory.
Motor Yacht
The true definition of a Motor Yacht is a vessel that is over 60ft. and uses its’ engines as its’ primary and only means of movement. Smaller vessels are also called motor yachts, but they do not offer the same luxury and comfort as vessels in the over 60ft. mark.
Motor Sailer
A Motor Sailer is a vessel that uses engines as its primary source of power and sails as secondary power. It is also typically in the traditional mono-hull, constructed of wood and has classic lines. It can have a single mast, but typically the larger Motor Sailers feature double masts.
Sailing Yacht
A Sailing Yacht’s primary power source is from the sails and has a motor for auxiliary power. Sailing Yachts are defined in two (2) separate hull categories: Mono-hull and Multi-hull. Multi-hull sailing vessels are commonly known as catamarans and trimarans. A catamaran offers significantly more size and comfort than a Mono-hull of equal size.
