    Elevated seven metres above ground in the forest canopy, guest dine with the birds in the surrounding treetops and take in views of the coastline. Fine dining restaurant located within an open verandah-style pavilion with an arched timber ceiling to catch the sea breeze and take in views. Ceiling fans, polished timber floors, and dining tables set with crisp white tablecloths, candles, and tropical flowers create romantic, intimate setting. Menu features Australian produce complemented by flavours from the Asia-Pacific region, and the menu highlights local seafood, beef, and lamb.

Guests can swim in one of two pools on site or visit the lodge's adventure desk to arrange a variety of activities including snorkeling, scuba diving, skydiving, white water rafting, sea kayaking, boating, and bushwalking.The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.Thala Beach Lodge's health and wellness centre offers a wide range of relaxing treatments. Guests may also bird and butterfly watch with the resident ornithologist and butterfly expert, or explore many trails throughout the on guided nature and garden walks. The two distinct microclimates within the resort—a pocket of virgin coastal rainforest bordering a freshwater reserve and, closer to the lodge, an arid forest of grass trees, eucalypts, and bloodwood gum trees—attract more than 140 species of birds. Thala Beach Lodge also has two rock swimming pools, one with sea views. Private trails lead down to the beach, where guests can have picnics arranged or simply relax and experience the Coral Sea. The lodge's special interest coordinators offer expert advice on nearby activities and tours such as turtle-spotting by sea kayak, star gazing, professional sunrise and sunset photography lessons, yoga and Tai Chi at sunrise, beach picnics, horse riding, sailing, rafting, reef fishing, golfing, hot air ballooning, rainforest walks, and helicopter flights from Thala's private helipad to the Australian outback or the Great Barrier Reef. Surcharges apply. An on-site observatory offers a powerful light beam, astronomical binoculars, and telescopes that allow guests to view the Southern Constellations, most of which cannot be seen from Europe or North America. Three major golf courses are within 16- of the lodge. The nearby coastline is home to migratory whales, dolphins, marine turtles, stingrays, and dugongs (manatee-like sea mammals).
