Hotel Goldener Hirsch, A Luxury Collection Hotel

Our 24 to 27-square-meter Classic Rooms are a tribute to the Hotel Goldener Hirsch’s rich history. Pink, blue, yellow, and red color schemes are enchanting, while antique Salzburg-style dark wood furniture, period paintings, and objects d’art evoke the building’s past.

The hotel’s Golden Stag theme is prominent throughout, populating lampshades, walls, or the hand printed fabrics that wrap inviting King or Twin beds. A small table with two chairs provides the perfect space to relax and enjoy the flat screen TV or a drink from the mini bar.

Supplementing the traditional décor is a small desk, two telephones, and a High Speed Internet Access portal. Windows open out to our inner courtyard or a characteristic side street. Soundproof glass, in conjunction with personally controlled air-conditioning, ensures an agreeable atmosphere.

Tranquility continues in the gracious bathroom, which is outfitted in handmade Italian tiles. Each bathroom houses either a bathtub with shower or bathtub with separate shower, and offers signature Luxury Collection bathroom amenities and a robe with slippers for extra indulgence. All have a bidet and select rooms have two sinks. 258-290 sq. ft.

Our 28 to 32-square-meter Exclusive Rooms encourage full relaxation. Soundproof windows overlook either the bustling Getreidegasse road or the hotel’s peaceful inner courtyard. Both scenes are matched in charm by the room’s interior. The signature Golden Stag theme—echoed in stag coat hooks—blends harmoniously with the hotel’s choice colors: pink, red, yellow, and blue.

Authentic Salzburg rag rugs are scattered throughout. Resurrected by Countess Walderdorff, these rugs have become a modern symbol of Austrian interiors. Two welcoming fauteuil armchairs surround a coffee table creating the ideal place to sit and read while enjoying refreshments from the mini bar. A flat screen TV and a small desk with a High Speed Internet Access portal and two telephones ensure all technological needs are met.

In the sleeping area, King or Twin beds are adorned with hand printed fabrics presenting contrasting and complementary tone-on-tone patterns. Antique closets provide a distinguished space to house clothing.

The largest of our guest rooms, at 33 to 48-square-meters, Festival Wing rooms are a study in unassuming opulence. Often referred to as “Junior Suites” by regular guests, these recently refurbished rooms accommodate a sitting area equipped with characteristic Salzburg furnishings including a sofa, coffee table, and two inviting fauteuil armchairs—select rooms have a separate anteroom.

Opening soundproof windows that look out on either the Herbert-von-Karajan-Platz toward the Festival Hall or the active Getreidegasse road, a pedestrian area, guests are transported to a past era when the hotel housed refined guests such as the Rothschilds or artistic legends like Picasso. Acknowledging modern-day needs, each room has a flat screen TV, two telephones, a mini bar, and High Speed Internet Access portal.

Our four diverse One Bedroom Suites range in size from 42 to 48-square-meters. Comprising a double bedroom, bathroom, and adjoining salon, these spacious suites are a city oasis.

All suites are furnished in Salzburg-style, employing the hotel’s choice colors: pink, yellow, blue, red, or green. Exquisite antique furnishings and décor—hand picked by Countess Harriet Walderdorff—create a fluid rapport with the hotel’s storied past.
