What to Expect:

Part of the Leading Hotels of the World and listed in Travel + Leisure's Top 50 best European hotels in September 2002, Hotel Martinez attracts an ongoing flow of celebrities, smart leisure travelers, and conference-goers. A 2003 re-modeling gives this 1920s hotel modernist decor, while retaining Art Deco touches. Guests now enter a spacious lobby of marble inlaid floors and engraved glass walls leading to an informal reception area where guests recline on brown-leather chairs while they check in at one of the bureau-style reception desks.

Amenity Highlights:

A favorite haunt for pampered gourmets, the Palme d'Or restaurant serves a modern interpretation of Mediterranean cuisine. Signature dishes include Carrot Gnocchi. With its club-like ambience of dark wood and red furnishings, the Amiral bar is buzzing on evenings when Jimmy McKissic performs on the grand piano. The SPA Martinez has eight treatment rooms with private balconies overlooking the sea.

The Hotel Martinez, Cannes, has 412 guestrooms, all of which are individually decorated in bright colors, many with limed-wood furnishings and Art Deco pictures. All have desks, minibars, safes, multi-line phones, and complimentary wireless Internet access. Fax machines and hypoallergenic pillows are available on request. The ensuite bathrooms offer hairdryers, bathrobes, telephones, makeup mirrors, and Annick Goutal toiletries.

Superior Hill View -
The Superior Hill View rooms feature free WiFi Internet Connection. A private entrance, sitting area with soundproofed and refurbished in Art Deco Style. A marbled bathroom (bathtub with shower, bathrobe and welcome gifts). Television with pay TV, mini-bar and writing desk.
Deluxe City View -
This category features a private entrance and some rooms maybe connected.

Penthouse Executive Junior Suite City View -
These units have been designed with large spaces and discreet and elegant luxury in mind. The materials used contribute to creating an atmosphere that is deliberately turned towards light and the Mediterranean spirit: the warm tones of the parquet, the walls hung with gold fabric, marble bathroom with a bath and shower, and a large terrace boasting teak furniture. Ingeniously incorporated in the decor, state-of-the-art technology provides access to all of the suite's functions thanks to a tactile screen.

1-Bedroom Prestige Sea View Suite is approximately 700 sq. ft. This suite features a bedroom, dressing room and salon decorated in traditional decor. The bathroom has a separate shower and tub. There is a work desk with private fax and internet access. Prestige suites on the 6th floor have a balcony with sea view, which may be requested but not guaranteed!

The SPA Martinez has eight treatment rooms offering facial and body care, relaxation, hydrotherapy, phytotherapy, massages, lymphatic drainage, and thermal mud and alga wraps. The hotel also has a hair salon, solarium, and fitness room where guests can work out on a balcony overlooking the sea. During the summer, supervised child care and activities are available.

Fifteen conference and banqueting rooms accommodate from 15 to 1,000 guests. The 930-square-meter Galuchat room has a lighting system with programmable projectors (on request) for staging concerts, catwalk shows, and other events requiring scenic effects.

Palme d'Or
Open for lunch and dinner four to five days a week, the Palme d'Or offers a much-acclaimed gastronomic experience. The chef, who has obtained two Michelin stars, serves a modern interpretation of Mediterranean cuisine. Signature dishes include Carrot Gnocchi with apples, peas, or melon depending on the season. The restaurant was refurbished in 2003 in subdued tones of plum, orange, and beige, while retaining its film theme in the palm-motif of the carpet and the black and white photos of past festivals. With its own dedicated lift and a chocolate-leather cushion provided for each lady to place her handbag upon, this is a favorite haunt for pampered gourmets. The restaurant also has a cigar lounge and cellar where wine tastings can be held.
Restaurant Le Relais
Open everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on seafood and local produce. With light wood paneling and neutral furnishings, the restaurant extends onto a terrace, overlooking the pool.
Amiral Bar
Next to the Restaurant Le Relais and overlooking the poolside, the Amiral bar serves drinks from morning until late evening. With its club-like ambience of dark wood and red furnishings, the bar is buzzing on evenings.
Zplage Beach Restaurant
The hotel's large private beach has a restaurant, which is open for lunch from April to October. In a relaxed ambience of teak chairs and canvas, the Restaurant de la Plage serves salads, grills, spit roasts, and stir fried food. The restaurant also has a bar, La Rotonde, which is open from morning until late evening, serving cocktails, snacks, and even breakfast. There are regular firework displays on summer evenings.

Recreation

The hotel has one of the largest private beaches along the bay front with a restaurant and bar open from April to October. Water sports including jet skiing, motor boating, sailing, windsurfing and water skiing are available during the summer. Guests traveling by boat can disembark on the pontoon (on request) . The hotel also has a large heated outdoor pool open all year. There is a surcharge for access to the private beach and swimming pool.
