- One of Venice's most famous building, the Doge's Palace, is less than 100 metres from the hotel. Try to visit late afternoon when many of the large tour groups have departed (it stays open until 7 PM). Better still take the Secret Itinerary (Itinerari Segreti) - a 90-minute guided tour which shows you places the standard tour does not cover. You must book a minimum of one day ahead.
