Behind a sculpture of Hawaiian sea turtles, a large flagstone lobby opens to a breezeway of shops, and to pools and beach beyond. Spread over 31 floors, the Sheraton Waikiki has 1,695 air-conditioned rooms with island decor, and sliding glass doors opening to lanai. All have shower/tub combinations, and signature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds with a 13-inch pillowtop mattress, five down-and-feather pillows, duvets, and triple sheeting. All rooms have compact refrigerators and high-speed Internet access (surcharge). Renovated rooms have contemporary island decor with bamboo shades, desks with laptop pull-out shelves, and curved wallside panels to accommodate TVs. Bathrooms include handheld showers, dark-wood framed mirrors, stylish sinks that doubles as wet bars, and louvered windows.

The Sheraton Waikiki offers an oceanside pool with a poolside bar, as well as a children's pool. The fitness center offers weight machines and cardio equipment with individual TVs. A full-service health spa with beauty salon is available at a companion property next door.

Waikiki Beach, adjacent, offers water and beach activities (the resort provides complimentary towels). Guests can also rent boogie boards, surf boards, and snorkel gear at a pool kiosk (surcharge). A surfing school is nearby (surcharge). The beach fronting the hotel is covered at high tide, but a few steps away, to left and right, the sand remains. Within one mile are a public golf course, and the tennis courts and jogging paths of Kapiolani Park.
