- The Whale Center of the Pacific is tucked away on the upper level of Whalers Village, adjacent to the hotel. Displays include harpoons, scrimshaw, and a re-creation of the tiny crew quarters of a whaling ship. Above the mall's main walk hangs the giant, bleached skeleton of a 40-foot sperm whale.
- An orchid-filled, open-air lobby opens to tropical gardens with waterfalls, swans and flamingos, and koi ponds. Adjacent to a sandy swimming beach and within a half-mile of Kaanapali's two championship golf courses, the 12-acre Westin Maui Resort and Spa is popular with celebrating couples, golfers, families, and other leisure travelers.
- The 87,000-square-foot aquatic playground provides five pools, grottos, waterfalls, jacuzzis, and water slides. Guests also enjoy a full service spa (surcharge), a Westin Workout facility, and a supervised children's program (surcharge). Dining options include an open-air island restaurant with ocean views, a casual poolside grill, an outdoor café with nightly Hawaiian entertainment, and 24-hour room service.

Located in two 11-story towers connected by a mezzanine, all 759 newly refurbished nonsmoking guestrooms offer private, furnished lanais. Rooms have island decor and luxurious comforts with signature Heavenly Beds with 13-inch pillowtop mattresses, five down pillows, white duvets, and triple sheeting. Other amenities include compact refrigerators, 32-inch flat screen TVs, laptop-compatible safes (no -surcharge), coffeemakers, and cordless phones. Bathrooms have Heavenly Showers with dual showerheads – bathrobes available on request. Westin Kids Club (surcharge) specializes in Hawaiian cultural activities for children ages 5-12.

At Kaanapali Beach, overlooking the resort, rentals are available for water activities such as snorkeling, sunset sailing, and seasonal whale watching.
The resort is within a half-mile of Kaanapali's two 18-hole championship golf courses. Royal Ka'anapali Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., home to the Wendy's Champions Skins Game (2008-2010); and the scenic Ka'anapali Kai Course.
Sight-seeing and whale-watching cruises, deep-sea fishing excursions, and water-sports rentals are available at Lahaina Harbor, four miles away.
