Insider Tip
  • Right in the centre of town, the Sofitel Queenstown is just a short walk (less than 500 metres) from the shores of Lake Wakatipu. Follow the lakeshore promenade to the left, which leads around a promontory with views of the town and, later, the Remarkables mountain range. Part of the promontory is a botanic garden that is often overlooked by many Queenstown visitors despite its unique alpine setting.
