Sofitel Bora Bora Marara Beach and Private Island encompasses both an exclusive private island and stunning white sand beach. Luxurious and expansive, it features 95 bungalows in a variety of styles, including overwater and hillside, plus exquisite restaurant, bar, cigar cave, wine cellar, day spa, infinity swimming pool and recreational facilities. Sofitel Bora Bora Marara and Sofitel Bora Bora Motu Private Island have merged into one resort offering two different experiences at one resort. Discover true paradise in stunning blue waters, pure white sand beaches and the preserved nature of our very own private island boasting a unique botanical garden, 360 degree panoramic views, luxurious sunsets, and an incredible coral garden.
4 Star - This is a very unique property with more to do on the main island and a secluded experience on the private island. You can stay on the main island and take a canoe ride over to the private island and spend the day sipping cocktails and lounging by the beach. The private islands restaurant is only open 2 or 3 days per week for dinner but serves upscale cuisine.
At the top of the private island motu has a very unique lookout spot with magnificent 360 degree views of the much of Bora Bora and its surrounding lagoon area. This lookout is a very popular wedding spot and it is accessed by a walking trail. The main part of the resort was uninspiring but was conveniently located close to the best public beach on Bora Bora.
The highlight of this resort is definitely the private island. The main part of the resort is nothing spectacular. It has a price point close to some other comparable or even better resorts. I would steer clear of this resort unless space is limited elsewhere.
