Fairmont Chateau Whistler
June 15, 2012
This hotel was my favorite. It is a 2-hour drive from Vancouver to Whistler, set in a mountain background that is lush with trees and wildlife all around.
Driving up to the hotel is Lower Village of Whistler: a small town setting with wonderful shops and plenty of pubs, several banks and ATM’s. This area is well known for the on-and-off ski lift right outside its back door, called Blackcomb Mountain.
Whistler Fairmont has a ski shop for rentals, or they can hold skis for the clients. They offer all sorts of snow activities. “Rendezvous” is a nice area for rest and refreshments when you arrive the top of the mountain from the ski lift.
The hotel itself is located in Upper Village. It has a very large, rustic lobby, with wonderful food and superb service. The rooms are very spacious. Views are spectacular on either side of hotel, some rooms have fireplaces. You can request mountain views, which overlook the ski lift and pool area, or you can get a beautiful small town view, with mountains in the far distance.
There are many shops within the hotel itself.
Offer the Gold Floor lounge -- this is a must for our clients. Your guest will receive the breakfast and all amenities that Gold Floor has to offer. I suggest all guest sign up for the President’s Club online prior to travel to get free Wi-Fi and other amenities.
