Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island - I Didn't Want To Go Home!
September 30, 2011
The rooms in the Manor house were my favorite, with white linens, carpet flooring, and dark wood furnishings. The pool at the Manor is very quiet and great for relaxing, with little nooks and seating areas all around and a live band at night. The grounds themselves are nice and clean with blue and white striped awnings and décor true to the Caribbean style. The one thing I didn’t like was the fact that they had maybe one gift shop and in that one gift shop, maybe five swimsuits to choose from!
The beach was the same as Turks and Caicos with its clear blue waters and non-motorized water sports set up along the beach, but the sand was not quite as soft and powdery as Great Exuma. The private island had a little rougher sand and rocks that looked like lava along the edges of the water on some parts, but this made for some excellent snorkeling spots. The owner did say something about a billion dollar project that will add sand and fix the beaches on the private island so that there will be more usable beach space. The entertainment and food they had set up for us on the private island was amazing and I didn’t want to go home! And even though we didn’t have time to venture outside the property, you could tell there was a ton of stuff to do on the island, especially from the private island…you can see the coast forever and all of Paradise Island.
Overall, this property had the friendliest staff and the added luxury of an offshore island was such a bonus. This would be perfect for couples wanting action but privacy at the same time. There’s a ton of little gazebos set up along the beach on the offshore island that could make a couple feel like they were the only two people there…really very romantic and peaceful…
