October 4, 2011

South Sea Cruises is an Australian owned company that services the Mamanuca Island resorts. South Sea Cruises operates fast luxury 82 foot catamaran with seating for 145 people. Departing Port Denarau daily. Choice of standard or Captains Lounge seating is available. The Captains Lounge (is the way to go!) offers reserved seating in the upper deck air-conditioned lounge, a dedicated hostess with complimentary beer, wine or soft drinks. Food & drinks can be purchased from the full licensed bar if travelling in standard seating. Upon boarding clients can choice their seat or make way to the top deck of the boat for an amazing views of the ocean and a little sun tanning. The boat trip was very smooth and relaxing, even thought the water was a little choppy and made it a very nice way to travel. The crew was very knowledgeable and willing to tell you about the islands and area we sailed by. The catamaran reminded me of luxury boat one of our clients might rent out for a dinner cruise.

The ferry stops in order of islands to drop passengers on and off. Upon arrival to your particular resort, I got off at Tokoriki, the ferry boat slow down to a stop about ¼ mile from the island. Tokoriki sent out a small boat that seats eight people to transfer me from the ferry to the island. The crew of the ferry prepares your luggage, then calls you downstairs for disembarkation. Disembarkation includes checking you have all your luggage and then advises you to watch your step as you ‘boat hop’. Within minutes the process was complete and I was on my final portion of the trip to Tokoriki. Upon arrival at Tokoriki then I stepped out from their boat into the water, about three steps and I was on the sand! Vacation begins! The experience was wonder and is a great option for guests to travel, at least one-way between Denarau and the Mamanuca Island resorts. Remember to book the Captains Lounge for our Luxury Clients!
