Tokoriki Island Resort

November 22, 2011

This resort was an hour and half boat ride from Port Denarau on south sea cruise to the resort. When we arrived close to the resort, the boat from Tokoriki was there to receive us. Our bags and the guest of Tokoriki went aboard the boat and we were on our way 7 minutes to Tokoriki Resort. We were received with a welcome Fijian song and the staff brought us to the main dining area to welcome us with a drink and a greeting from all the staff. There was warmth of belonging from the staff when we arrived at the resort.
The resort was very lush with plantation in between each of the bures. There are 26 Fijian style beachfront bures and villas with patio and all with outdoor showers. Out of these were 8 bures each with private pool which they call honeymoon bures on either end of the property. All bures are beachfront with hammocks on the patio.

There are 2 restaurants that open at night, one is the main dining for breakfast lunch and dinner and the other is Japanese tempan for 8 people dining each night. This is an adult only resort but will allow children 12 and older. There is 1 tennis court, table tennis and volleyball court on the premise. There is a good size Infinity Pool which is located in front of dining area. Each guest at resort gets a 10 min foot massage and it was relaxing on the feet even though the massage was only for 10 minutes. Spa was nice with 2 treatment rooms and there was a chapel on the premise for Sunday church service or a wedding if they want it in the church. Snorkel equipment and kayaks are included in rate but meals are not included but meal plan can be purchased ahead of time. I did indeed like this property as it was very relaxing. One observation about this resort is that there were lots of frogs that came out at night time and that was the only thing that bugged me as I was walking back to the bure afraid I might step them in the dark.

Overall it was a nice resort for any couple especially honeymooners who want moderate nice beachfront bures.
