The hotel is located on the southern coast of Antigua, which is slightly more green than the northern part of the island. From the airport it’s approximately 30 minutes and the same distance to St. John’s which is the largest city on the island. The property is surrounded by rainforest and there is a ziplining activity center just down the road.
The hotel, unlike any of the other properties we sell in Antigua, is very contemporary. The décor is very simple, and minimalist, with the color palate being more whites, creams and grays with splashes of color here and there.
Carlisle Bay is a great 5 star option for families or couples. On one side of the property there are more family friendly accommodations as well as the kids and teens club. On the other side are accommodations more suited for couples.
On the right side of the property are all of the Beach Balcony, Beach Terrace, and Carlisle Suites, which are more appropriate for families. The only difference between the Beach Balcony and Beach Terrace are that Beach Balconies are on the upper floor and Terraces are on the ground floor (these are two story buildings). These suites are configured to be one bedrooms suites, sort of. There is a king bed in the room, but then there is an additional bedroom with 2 twin beds that attaches to the bathroom, so there is no common living area, but is still great option for families with younger children. This extra room can also have a Queen or Double bed, but I wouldn’t put two couples in this room as this extra bedroom is much smaller. The Carlisle Suites are also located in this section. The only difference between Carlisle Suite A and B is that Carlisle Suite B has a wrap around balcony as these are located on the corner of the buildings, while A just has a balcony fronting the beach. These suites have 3 bathrooms, 2 of them are HUGE. They have two rooms with King Beds and one with two twins as well as a small room with a kitchenette area (microwave, fridge, coffee maker, small stovetop).
On the other side of the property are the Garden and Ocean Suites which all have one king bed only and are in 3 story buildings with no elevators. There is one building which houses the Garden Suites which is actually still very close to the beach but this building is located behind another beach front building so the views are obstructed. The Ocean suites are also right in front of the beach but since there are a lot of palm trees in front of these buildings, it does obstruct the view a little bit.
The resort is on a nice beach, with plenty of non motorized activities to choose from, however motorized sports are not allowed in this particular bay so if clients want to go waterskiing, jet skiing, etc. the hotel can arrange this for them in the neighboring bay. There is also a large pool, tennis courts, pilates/yoga studio, gym and spa. There is also a movie theatre on site which can be reserved for private screenings.
There are two restaurants on site. Indigo which is on the beach serves mostly grilled items, and East which is Asian inspired. Children are not allowed in East after 8pm.
