Victorian elegance
Known for the ivy-clad historic landmark property, the Fairmont Empress has regally risen over the harbour since 1908 and captures the grandeur and elegance of a bygone era. Named for Queen Victoria with turn of the century architecture, the hotel is renowned for its daily afternoon tea, beautiful rose gardens and fine dining in the Empress Room while the Indian-themed Bengal Lounge, is famous for its curry buffet and martinis.

Empress Room
Notably the most picturesque dining room in Victoria, The Empress Room combines impeccable service with an exquisite menu. The Bengal Lounge
The world famous Bengal Lounge has long been known for its luxury, style and uncompromising hospitality. It has been recognized throughout North America as one of the best bars for its famous Martinis and renowned Curry Buffet.
The Veranda

Recreation

Guests at the Empress work out in a fitness center equipped with three treadmills, two elliptical trainers, two exercise bikes, strength-training machine, and free weights. The gym overlooks a 60-foot atrium pool located next to a children's wading pool and a hot tub. Fitness center changing rooms have showers, toiletries, towels, lockers, and saunas.

Bicycle and watercraft rentals are available across the street at Victoria's scenic Inner Harbour. Hotel staff can provide guests with running maps, water bottles, and towels. Flightseeing tours and whale-watching excursions depart from docks in the harbor.
