Traveler Reviews

Tony, Roger & Karen were amazing. Coming down to celebrate a beautiful friends hens do just after lockdown, we wanted to ensure we were adhering to Covid guidelines. The team were awesome and made us feel very at ease with the process, on time & great to communicate with. Thank you!!

Best cycle tour, whole day was made so easy, amazing advice, amazing service and great jokes. Recommended always

Highly recommend the Cape Winery Cycle Tour. Our group of 4 (x2 couples) absolutely loved the experience. This was hands down the highlight of our 3 day getaway in the Hawkes Bay. Kudos to Tony who was such an awesome host. Your recommendations and history about landmarks and key natural features was appreciated. We also appreciated your low key, friendly and funny vibe. The time went by so quick we had so much fun. We opted for the electric bikes. All first timers on these and they were amazing!!! So much fun cycling between the wineries and soaking up the beautiful scenery of the sunny hawkesbay. We took a beach dip (aaaamazing) before heading to Te Awanga Estate for the best meal to end our spectacular self guided tour. We enjoyed the delicious pizza and platters on the lawn. If you are keen on particular wineries listed on the self guided tour we would recommend that you actually look to see if they are open. 2 of the 6 wineries were not open on the day we went but thi

To celebrate our graduation a group of us headed to sunny Hawkes Bay and hired bikes to safely travel between the wineries. Not only were these electric bikes way faster than your standard bike, they were just as easy to ride and made for the perfect amount of exercise and fresh air between glasses. Most of our self-tour we were off road on purpose built bike trails that took us to beautiful places we would not have experienced otherwise. These bikes conveniently came with carry bags for up to three bottles of wine to take your favorites home with you. I cannot recommend this experience enough it would be incredible with family, friends or even a cheeky staff function.

We booked 4 eBikes for this tour and could not have been more pleased with both the quality of bike and the amazing service we received. We arrived at Takaro Trails Cycle Tours shop in Ahuriri to a very friendly greeting and then were taken by van to Black Barn Vineyard to start our cycling wine tour. Nothing was too much trouble for Roger and he was a mine of information about the region etc. Our day out was awesome, we sampled some excellent wines along with having a great time biking the trails. And I don't say that lightly as the last time I was on a bike would be at least 20 years ago. So I can happily say that if I can do it anyone can. We finished the day at Te Awanga Estate where we enjoyed a casual late lunch of pizza's in the sun before Roger arrived to collect us and return us to the store at Ahuriri and our vehicle. I cannot recommend Takaro Trails Cycle Tours enough, you will not regret using this company
