Overview
ItineraryAfter pick up and the 45 minute drive to our base camp, we meet the other guides and get you geared up in wetsuit, harness, helmet and life preserver. A quick safety briefing is followed by 10 more minutes van time before arriving at the canyon entrance. The trip starts with a couple of easy jumps before we come upon the highlight of the day, the Magic Mushroom itself. Two intense rappels are followed by some great jumps that can be walked around if you are just in it for the rappels. After a couple of hours in the river and a 20 minute hike out to the transport we're ready to head for lunch and the drive back to Cabarete, arriving at around 2:00pm.

This tour far exceeded my expectations. First time canyoning, phenomenal location, a great adventure! Highly recommend, would do this tour again. Our lead guide was Carlos: so much fun, very knowledgable, very hospitable. The whole crew was excellent at making sure everybody was having a great time. The food at Blue Moon was also exceptional.

MUST DO- especially if Amanera resort visitor. Iguana mama tours is an amazing way to experience the waterfall/mountain experience of the Dominican Republic. Our guides, Robert and Angel, could not have been more professional, attentive, and enthusiastic.
The journey begins with a 1.5 hr drive from Amanera with a stop to pick up gear (helmet, wet suit, etc.). Once at the canyon, a short hike to the top of a mountain trail. Don't want to spoil the surprise for people, but it's an exhilarating way to experience the crystal clear blue waterfalls, rivers, and canyons of this beautiful area. Magic mushroom itself is one of the most breath-taking sites I've ever seen. If you are looking for something to break up the monotony of the beach/ocean scene (know it sounds crazy, but it can get a little boring), then do this adventure. You won't regret it.

Beautiful and fun day! Wear good shoes and be prepared to hike. More intense than 27 Charcos for sure but not as intense as Ciguapa Falls. I highly recommend it.

The canyon was gorgeous and the guide took fantastic care of us. Super-professional and wonderful. You should be a little bit hardy to do it.

Thanks a lot to Robert our amazing guide and Fernando the best driver !! Thanks to them and the whole team onsite we had a great day canyoning the Magic Mushroom ! Stunning Jungle landscapes, walking by the river, jumping, rappelling etc. Great sensations ! Thanks again guys
