Traveler Reviews

My adult daughter and I just spent a week in Copenhagen and used the Copenhagen Card for part of our stay. Before we purchased we mapped out what we wanted to do so that we did the sites and attractions that were on the card. For other attractions that were not, we went on a different day. This saved us a ton of money. I was surprised at how expensive Copenhagen is (this coming from a New York area resident and a frequent visitor to London).Using the card was a big savings!

THis card provided GREAT value for money, for me. My hotel was outside the City Center, in Ørestad, so I needed to use transport every day to get to where I wanted to sightsee. Knowing I could jump on the metro, a bus, or the local trains gave me peace of mind and I used my pass SO much. As a first-time visitor to Copenhagen I did a lot of research about things to see and do, and much of what is recommended in guidebooks and websites is included with the Card. Not only that, but this Card gives you FREE (not discounted) admission to each attraction. I know I saved a ton of money using this and can't recommend it enough for first-time visitors - and maybe repeat visitors. You can travel quite far out of the City Center on this Card and I did just that (Frederiksborg and Helsingør for example).

This is our third time using the Copenhagen Cards, normally we have no issues but we were abit disappointed this time, the aquarium was no longer part and we had to spend roughly £50 to enter and trying to pick up the cards were very difficult this time, Central Station Information was closed, Tivoli never had any for 48 hours so with the money we spent in transport and then the aquarium, we probably spent the same amount if we were to pay for everything ourselves... That said, I probably still would get them again but definitely be checking what's included and either using the app or getting at the airport.

I was very reluctant to buy a pass, which I felt would over commit me and not give me the flexibility I like during a trip. It turned out to be an excellent purchase. I bought the five day pass and used it several times each day at all the museums, Tivoli Park, and daily train rides.

Transport and museums are not cheap in CPH. So this is a great way to forget all about it, visit and travel as much - and as fast - as you want if you have a tight schedule. Beware, if you do not visit at least 2 "spots" or "activities" per day, maybe it won´t be a good option. On the bright side, we´ve visited various attractions that would have been a pitty to overlook but for sure we would not have visited without this card. Take advantage of it!
