Great collections. Need multiple trips to truly understand and enjoy the visit! One of the best museums in the US.

My kids and even the adults in the family loved every part of the exhibits we saw. We only wish we had had more time to explore. Highly recommended!

Ramses II exhibit Hall it was amazing and the planetarium and dinosaur halls also are a nice places to visit

Spent most of my time in the Ramses special exhibit which is an extra cost but worth it. There we're some beautiful things including jewelry and mummies. It starts with a short video about Ramses and you can get an audio guide (also extra). The dinosaurs in the regular museum were so creatively lit it brought them more to life. I had a ticket for the planetarium so I didn't get to see the gem exhibit.
Note that the planetarium and theater have separate entrances from the same lobby as the museum so you need to leave the museum to go to them. Consider this when you're planning because you can't get back into the museum after you leave. Don't expect to see some of the museum, see a movie, then return to the museum.
I got through the museum and Ramses in about 1 hour 45 mins but I was hustling (and missed the gems) because I had a 1pm Planetarium ticket, which by the way was worth the extra cost.
Overall it was a great way to spend a few hours.
