I loved my experience with the hop on hop off bus ?? Idéal if you have various places you'd like to go and not a lot of days in the city. Our bus driver Steven was simply the best! He was charasmatic, helpful and super nice. Highly recommended!!!!

It was cold, it was raining and we had no game plan. We saw the bus and hopped on. For two student tickets (students of life) we spend €50 and got 2 admissions in to the little museum of Dublin. Our poor sales lady tried to get the bus to stop for us at a stop that wasn't it usual which didn't work. The next bus came but the tour didn't start till stop 16. He did however give us a live private tour around till that point (we just couldn't hop off). We hopped of at phoenix park and saw all the wild deer - amazing then reboarded and went back to the beginning. We got a new bus and did the whole tour again with out getting off. Because of the time everything was due to close. But both drivers had great knowledge. The next morning we went to the little museum of Dublin. Which was okay but not overly amazing. If you go make sure you book on the live tour.
We only had two issues with the bus which is why I'm not giving full stars.

Lovely tour, friendly driver. Getting on the first bus was a positive experience but when we tried to get on a different bus at 4 pm, it never arrived. We had to call a taxi in the end. Service should have been provided until 5 pm but that wasn't the case!

Absolutely appalling. The worst bus tour I have ever done, and I've been on many. We started on O'Connell street and were told there would be live commentary from the driver as we went around the city. This didn't happen, there was "music" played and then that would be interrupted by a pre-recorded guided tour - usually either after the place they were talking about was behind us, or too far in front to see.
The "music" was by some woman who has obviously never heard any of the songs she had been asked to sing before - it was awful.
To top it all the driver was too busy trying to run people over at traffic lights and probably couldn't have managed talking at the same time without incriminating himself.
We have used tour buses in Dublin before but it was obviously the red ones, who really do have very witty drivers giving guide tours. Certainly not this lot
