Overview
ItineraryHow would you like to learn to play the "Congas in just 15 minutes"? I'm excited to share this new approach to learning for almost anyone of any age. Known as "Tumbao", "Marcha" or "Rhythm Pattern", you can learn to play this basic Conga pattern used in most popular music today in just 15 minutes. In this two-hour audience participation show, I take you through the history of how the Conga drums have influenced American Music (8 minutes), followed by the "15 minute Conga" lesson, and 60 to 70 minute audience play along to rhythms such as Jazz, Rock, Latin, Soul, Funk, R&B and Pop. We end the lesson with "Oh When The Saints Come Marching In". During the show, I'll also play several Conga Rhythyms from my recently published book to hopefully enlighten the audience to the history of this instrument. Participants will take home a printed copy free of charge of the music they just learned, to practice at home. No experience needed. Learn to play the most popular rhythm patterns and learn to READ THE NOTES "GUARANTEED". Play along for an experience like no other. This is an audience participation show.Stop At: • Mach Music Studio - About Us, 7501 Wiles Rd #102a, Coral Springs, FL 33067, USA

Traveler Reviews

This activity was truly a fun friendly experience. And for those of you who are a bit apprehensive or shy to try, the instructor/owner Manny makes you feel very comfortable and at home. It was a relaxed and fun atmosphere where he teaches you a bit about congas and its origins, complete with instructional banner and slideshow presentation on a monitor. Then it's time to play! I felt like this was well thought out, with so much built into the two hour lesson. I really appreciate Manny's dedication and willingness to share for such a nominal fee. The studio was spotless and adhered to cdc covid guidelines. All the equipment appears to be current and in good working order. It is located in a safe location, well lit and plenty of parking. I will definitely be back for more classes with my sons !! Thank you Manny !

I got a great history of the drums from Africa to New Orleans and throughout the Caribbean and into the musical world.. I got to learn and play the DNA of the drums..

What an amazing 2 hours! I had family visiting from S. Carolina (3 adults and 3 kids- 10, 12 and 15) and we were looking for something to do. We booked playing the congas with Manny and he did NOT disappoint. We learned so much about the history of the instrument, how to play and we even got to know him! This would be a great girls night out or date night! We had a lot of fun!

Manny was informative, passionate and engaging. He had a wealth of knowledge and applied it to helping us learn to play the basic conga technique. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone.

This is a wonderful activity perfect for families, girls night, couples and team building. Manny is a knowledgeable instructor who makes time for your questions, gives thorough history of the instrument and art, his background, and instantly becomes a friend. You will be encouraged to keep your phone away and be fully present and immersed in the lesson but don’t worry! Afterwards, everyone gets time to take as many photos and videos as you would like. What an awesome experience! Manny is also great with children. My 8 year old enjoyed the lesson very much. He even helped us celebrate my husband’s birthday with a conga birthday song. Great memories! Thank you Manny, we will see you soon! .
