There you will see some of Diego Rivera's sketches for murals as well as part of his collection of pre-Hispanic works that houses about 2,000 figures and idols from different cultures and periods of the ancient history of Mexico, where in the first instance, crossing the main hall, one will meet the four most important deities of the Mexican pre-Hispanic world and that represent the four elements: the goddess of corn, Chicomecóatl, for the land; Ehécatl, god of the wind, for the air; Huehuetéotl, god of fire, for this element, and Tláloc, god of rain, for water. Traveler Reviews

There are much, much nicer museums than this. Like The National Museum of art downtown (Centro Historico) Dolores Olmedo museum, Soumaya. If you like Frida an abused woman who loved being the victim of a pompous narcissist although he was a genius artist Diego Rivera you may like it. Not my thing. I do not even know how she's a "feminist" icon. The woman suffered from Stockholm Syndrome. Feminists do not put up with abusive men.

I realise that this was a group tour, but taking almost 3 hours to make it from our hotel pick-up to Frida Kahala’s house was unacceptable. Along the way, we got to visit the “artisanal” silver shop that “the ladies love” which wasn’t on the itinerary. On another “pre-stop,” I felt like I was in a bad movie when the guide said, “This is my friend dressed as Frida Kahalo. She sells postcards. Would you like to buy any postcards?” The best part was being lied to - the guide told us that Kahalo didn’t open until 11a (did the guide think that we couldn’t google that fact?). The tickets for the Kahalo tour were not purchased until we arrived (tacky!). After Kahalo, we took an Uber back to our hotel.
