ItineraryThis is a typical itinerary for this productStop At: Irazu Volcano National Park, Costa RicaYou will be picked up from your hotel in San Jose between 7 and 7:30am. You will then travel 12 miles Eeast through the Panamerican Higway to Cartago province. At 9:30am you will arrive at Irazu Volcano National Park for a short walk to the main craters, enjoying great panoramic views of the Caribbean and Central Valley. A tour guide will explain all important facts about history, activities, vegetation and wildlife. After spending one hour at the volcano viewpoint, you will start to make your way to downtown Cartago in order to visit the main Basilica. At around 11:30am, you will visit Cartago City's main attractions including the Los Angeles Basilica. At 12:15pm you will continue to the wonderful Orosi Coffee Valley, stop at a viewpoint for beautiful pictures of the region and proceed to a restaurant for a great lunch. Duration: 8 hours

My guide for the trip was Oscar. He was funny, warm, friendly and informative. I had wanted to go to Cartago City and this tour allowed me to do that. Afterward, we went to Irazu Volcano. It was cool to learn that it is the highest point in Costa Rica. Before the trip ended, we had lunch in Orosi Valley. It was a long drive to get there but worth it. It was beautiful and serene.

Seeing the craters of the Irazu Volcano and being able to visit some of the historic buildings in Cartago. The food was fantastic too. Definitely will book with DestinyTravel in the future and our tour guide was amazing!

I've never booked an official tour before--I typically like to explore on my own, but I can't emphasize enough how great this tour was! Our guide clearly loved his job and he was knowledgable and friendly (and funny!)--his energy was absolutely joyful! Besides the volcano, we got to visit landmarks and see parts of the country that we would have probably never seen on our own, and the lunch spot was perfect and delicious. The volcano itself was stunning--not as much hiking as I had expected, as the path is just on one side of the main crater, but it was serene and awe-inspiring, and we were given plenty of time to appreciate it. There were also several stops and surprises along the drive, and the fact that they picked us up and dropped us off right in front of our AirBnb rental was incredibly convenient. It was mine and my friend's last full day in Cost Rica, and it couldn't have been any better. :)
