Classic Vacations Honors Top Caribbean Hotel Vendors
SAN JOSE, Jan. 25, 2011 – Classic Vacations, one of the top luxury travel wholesalers, recently hosted their annual Caribbean Vendor Awards event at The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica in Montego Bay during the Caribbean Marketplace. David Hu, Co-President of Classic Vacations, summarized Classic’s Caribbean success in 2010 and reflected on the strong start for 2011.

Recognition of hotel vendors was based on several awards criteria, including frequent and proactive communication, quick and efficient response to issues, co-op marketing support and creative promotional efforts, quality of product and service, removal of sales obstacles, and active support from all departments.
Parrot Cay and COMO Shambhala Retreat - 2010 Hotel Featured in Classic Caribbean Brochure. This resort was voted our Independent Hotel of the Year in 2008 and was selected this year for its high caliber image bank.
Rachel Mecca, Starwood Resort Collection - 2010 Sales Advocate of the Year. Rachel seizes every opportunity to train our reservation staff and keep the Starwood Caribbean properties top of mind in our call center. She is proactive in removing sales barriers and resolving any issues that may arise.
Peter Island Resort & Spa - 2010 Independent Hotel of the Year. Peter Island Resort & Spa engaged in a true partnership with Classic Vacations last year and as a result had exceptionally strong revenue growth, outpacing the overall market.
The Regent Palms Turks & Caicos - 2010 Partner of the Year. Garry Perrotin participates in multiple marketing opportunities, embraces new initiatives, and proactively seeks new business opportunities. As a result, The Regent Palms Turks & Caicos increased sales year over year.
Sandals & Beaches Resorts - 2010 Marketing Partner of the Year. Sandals is a multi-year recipient of this award. They are proactive, creative and innovative with their marketing programs. They are willing to try new programs and support Classic’s marketing initiatives.
Kerzner International - Hotel Chain of the Year. Nina Schectman is one of our most proactive contacts. She continually secures sponsorship opportunities for Classic events, communicates with our sales force, keeps travel advisors abreast of all new offers and developments, and ensures resolution of customer service issues.
Barbados Tourism Board - Destination Partner of the Year. This destination significantly increased efforts in both marketing and sales with Classic and attended our travel agent product showcases. As a result of added visibility in our program, their sales grew double digits in 2010 and are ahead of pace again in 2011.
