This lodge is situated on the Pacific coast of northern Queensland, between Port Douglas and Cairns. Its guest bungalows are nestled among the treetops, offering wide vistas of the beaches, water, and forests below. Amenities include a fine dining restaurant, cocktail lounge, art gallery, boutique, and two free form pools. An adventure desk will arrange various tours in the area.Thala Beach Lodge is set in of wooded and tropical headland on a tranquil stretch of coast between Cairns and Port Douglas in Tropical North Queensland. Butted between the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and Australia's World Heritage tropical rainforest, the lodge offers privacy, seclusion, a flexible and unregimented resort lifestyle, and up-close encounters with wildlife, including more than 140 species of birds, some on their annual migration. A fine dining restaurant takes in of uninterrupted views of coral islands, reefs, and mountains ranges. The lodge also features two lagoon-style pools tucked within garden settings, one 24 metres and the other 12 metres in length. A circular, open-sided guest reading room was designed to be an observation deck and is perched among the tree canopy. Other highlights private beaches, a bar, numerous trails woven over the headland, and a health and wellness centre with a wide range of treatments including massage, detoxification, body wraps, and relaxation techniques. Ospreys Restaurant
Elevated seven metres above ground in the forest canopy, guest dine with the birds in the surrounding treetops and take in views of the coastline. Fine dining restaurant located within an open verandah-style pavilion with an arched timber ceiling to catch the sea breeze and take in views. Ceiling fans, polished timber floors, and dining tables set with crisp white tablecloths, candles, and tropical flowers create romantic, intimate setting. Menu features Australian produce complemented by flavours from the Asia-Pacific region, and the menu highlights local seafood, beef, and lamb.
Masked Plover Cocktail Bar
Open during the day and evening. Pavilion-style building with well-spaced cane furniture. Located on ground level with views over the main pool, coast, and rainforest. Serves wide range of beverages, including coffee and afternoon tea, in addition to snacks such as sandwiches, pastries, and platters of Australian cheeses and tropical fruits.
