HEALTH & SAFETY INFO
Led for our Health & Safety Manager, we are building on existing sanitization and cleanliness protocols, with increased hygiene measures as we monitor recommendations outlined by the Ministry for Health in Grenada along with guidelines from the World Health Organization, CDC and other leading organizations.
As part of our enhanced levels of sanitization we are upgrading to higher grades of Ecolab recommended disinfectants for the use against COVID-19 throughout all guests areas from transportation vehicles, to guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, reception, spa, gym and pool area as well as “back of house” including team member areas, laundry, kitchens etc at 30 minute intervals. We will have personal care kits for guests including hand sanitizer, sanitized wipes, gloves and masks available on arrival.
In addition to the personal care kits for guests, we will be taking their temperature at airport on arrival using forehead touchless monitor and all team members will have their temperature taken on arrival at work and at least once during the day.
Restaurants and spa will have new protocols for team members and guests to ensure safety and compliance with new protocols including table spacing, our buffet breakfast will be replaced with a la carte and no additional charge for room service should guests prefer the sanctuary of their own room. Restaurant and room service menus will be revised to include a more limited but fresh, healthy dining choices with lots of immune boosting ingredients with menus available on guest personal devices via QR code.
We are reviewing our lifestyle & wellness offering to expand to offer yoga and other activities following guidelines for physical distancing which includes physical distancing of sunbeds by the pool and on the beach
To ensure smooth arrival and departure we are looking into ways to limit contact on check in and check out.
Team Member & Guest Health
The health and wellbeing of our team members and guests is our number one priority.
Temperature Checks. Point of entry for team members will be limited to allow our security team to conduct temperature checks utilizing non-touch handheld thermometer guns. Anyone displaying a temperature over 37.5c will be taken to a private area for a secondary temporal temperature screening. The secondary screening will take place in the nurses’ station in the back of house area before any guest contact.
Team members confirmed to have a temperature over 38.0c will not be allowed entry to the property and will be directed towards appropriate medical care.
Guests will have temperature checks utilizing non-touch handheld thermometer guns on arrival at the airport prior to getting into the hotel vehicle.

If guests report feeling unwell or showing any symptoms of illness once on the property, the nurses station front of house for guests will be used to screen the guests and appropriate action taken after consultation, via phone in initial stage with the hotel doctor.
Physical Distancing. Guests will be asked to practice physical distancing of at least six feet throughout the hotel. Restaurant tables, sun beds, other seating will be arranged to ensure appropriate distancing.
Posters will be placed back of house for team members as reminder of the distancing and hygiene protocols in place. Team members will be reminded not to touch their faces and to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from guests and other colleagues whenever possible.
Hand Sanitizer. Personal size hand sanitizer will be available to all guests on arrival and throughout their stay, dispensers will be placed in guest and team member areas contact areas such as reception, restaurants, elevator landings, pool, gym and spa.
Case Notification. If we are alerted to a presumptive case of COVID-19 at the resort, we will work with the Grenada Health Authorities and follow the appropriate actions as outlined in our Epidemic and Infectious Disease Protocols.
The New Guest Experience
A front desk agent will greet each guest at the airport. Guests will have their temperature taken and asked general health questions prior to getting into vehicle. Guests will be given and asked to use hand sanitizer and to wear a mask (which will be provided by the resort). Vehicle will be sanitized before and after guest use and luggage will be sanitized upon receiving it.
Hotel Guest Elevators
a) A team member will be present to sanitize the button panels at regular intervals, at least once per hour.
b) No more than two guests will be permitted per elevator.
Guest Sanitization Amenities
Each guest will receive personal hygiene kit on arrival containing masks, hand sanitizer and sanitizer wipes.
Throughout the resort we will comply with Grenada health authority guidelines on proper physical distancing.
Restaurants and Bars. Restaurants will have reduced seating capacity to allow for a minimum of six feet between each seated group/party of guests.
Breakfast buffet will be discontinued until further notice and will be replaced with a la carte and no additional charge for room service should guests prefer the sanctuary of their own room. Restaurant and room service menus will be revised to include a more limited but fresh, healthy dining choices with lots of immune boosting ingredients with menus available on guest personal devices via QR code.
Pool. Pool seating will be configured to allow for at least six feet of separation between groups of guests.
Cleaning Products and Protocols
We are upgrading our cleaning and sanitization products based on the recommendation of WHO and Ecolab which are approved for use and effective against viruses and bacteria.
We are also currently investigating the use of Electrostatic Spray Technology.

Public Areas. The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased in all public areas with an emphasis on high contact surfaces such as door handles, public bathrooms, room key cards and locks, stair handrails, gym equipment, dining surfaces and seating areas every 30 minutes.
Guest Rooms. Ecolab cleaning and sanitizing protocols are used to clean guest rooms with attention paid to high-touch items including television remote controls, toilet seats and handles, door and furniture handles, water faucet handles, nightstands, telephones, in-room control panels, light switches, temperature control panels, luggage
racks and flooring.
Laundry. All bed linen and laundry will be changed daily and continue to be washed at a high temperature and in accordance with WHO & Ecolab guidelines. Dirty linen will be bagged in the guest room to eliminate excess contact while being transported to the laundry facility.
Team Member Responsibilities
Hand Washing. Correct hygiene and frequent handwashing with soap is vital to help combat the spread of virus. All team members are instructed to wash their hands, or use sanitizer when a sink is not available, every 60 minutes (for 20-seconds) and after any of the following activities: using the restroom, sneezing, touching the face, blowing the nose, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, smoking, eating, drinking, entering and leaving guest areas, going on break and before or after a shift.
COVID-19 Training. All team members will receive training on COVID-19 safety and sanitization protocols with more comprehensive training for teams with frequent guest contact including Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Public Area Cleaners, Hotel Operations and Security.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Appropriate PPE will be worn by all team members based on their role and responsibilities. Training on how to effectively use and dispose of all PPE will be mandatory. Every team member entering the resort will be provided a mask and required to wear that mask while on property. Gloves will be provided to team members whose responsibilities require them including housekeeping and public area attendants and security officers and others in direct contact with guests.
Daily Pre-Shift. Temperature checks will be done on arrival and at lunch break. Team member meetings will be conducted in areas that allow for appropriate physical distancing. Larger departments will stagger arrival times to minimize traffic back of house and in-service areas. Hand sanitizer will be available at each entrance and team members will be required to sanitize their hands after clocking in.
Uniforms will be given to team members on arrival, with their personal clothes left in locker. Uniforms are being washed at high temperature in accordance with Ecolab recommendations.
Meal Breaks – Team Member Restaurant
To ensure physical distancing, meal break times will be extended to keep a maximum of 15 team members inside at any one time. Temperature check, hand sanitizer and hand washing protocols will be in place on arrival and departure from team restaurant.
Back of the House. The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing will also increase in high traffic back of house areas with an emphasis on the team member restaurant, team member entrance, uniform control room, restrooms, loading dock, offices, kitchens, security scanning podiums.
Physical distancing protocols will be used in the team dining room, uniform control areas, training classroom, shared office spaces, and other high-density areas to ensure appropriate distancing between team members.
Shared Equipment. Shared tools and equipment will be sanitized before, during and after each shift or anytime the equipment is transferred to a new team member. This includes phones, radios, computers and other communication devices, payment terminals, kitchen implements, engineering tools, folios, cleaning equipment, key cards, time clocks and all other direct contact items used throughout the resort.
Air Filter and HVAC Cleaning. The frequency of air filter replacement and HVAC system cleaning has been increased and fresh air exchange will be maximized.
