A museum about maritime and whales. History about the dutch ship painters etc. Visited with the I am amsterdam city card.

Very nice visit. Good facilities and pretty well explained. Wardrobe room is very good with loads of lockers. Give yourself a couple of hours (between 2-3 hours) to visit properly all bridges and the ship outside. The audio tour devices are handy and more than enough to have proper explanations. Friendly staff. 100% recommended.

Absoluut geen aanrader. Als je op zoek bent naar de Nederlandse geschiedenis, kun je beter naar het West Fries museum. We kwamen vooral veel witte muren tegen met een enkele ruimte vol schilderijen en oude zeekaarten. De Amsterdam lijkt wel omgetoverd tot een speelparadijs voor kinderen. Hoe er geleefd werd in het verleden, daar moest je zelf veel fantasie voor gebruiken. Jammer!

Muzeum jest bardzo warte odwiedzenia , juz z uwagi na swietna replike XVIIwieczengo statku Amsterdam. Piekna replika, dzieki której mozna poznac jak wygladal sluzba na okrecie. Wspaniala atrakcja dla dzieciaków. Parowy holownik i królewska barka wioslowa tez sa ciekawe. Natomiast jezeli chodzi o pozostala czesc muzeum to z uwagi na ograniczony czas jakim dysponowalismy i fakt ze bylismy z dziecmi obejrzelismy tylko wystawe ,,Republic on the sea" czyli podobno najwazniejsza czesc muzeum. I tu jestem rozczarowany. Wystawa jest niewielka, dwa lub trzy modele statków, globus, jakis miecz, kilka obrazów. Niestety bardziej to przypomina jakas izbe pamieci niz muzeum z prawdziwego zdarzenia. Holendrzy maja chwalebna historie marynarki i tradycje mocarstwa morskiego. Moga byc z tego dumni. Byc moze to kwestia glupiej poprawnosci politycznej , moze taki ich narodowy charakter ale ta wystawa zadnej dumy nie wyraza. Mam zatem klopot z ocena . Oczywiscie nie bylem w calym muzeum. Mooi, interessant en leerzaam museum over de geschiedenis van de zeevaart. Diversiteit aan tentoonstellingen. Uitgebreide mooie collectie. Gratis audiotour beschikbaar voor volwassenen en een speciale versie voor kinderen. Replica van VOC schip van binnen en van buiten te bekijken.
