This was a very enjoyable two-hour tour of the murals throughout the center of San Nicolas. We were lucky enough to have a very small group, ourselves and one other couple. We were picked up at our hotel at Eagle Beach and driven 30 minutes down to San Nicolas which is at the south end of the island. Throughout the drive, we had a very nice chat with Tito, who was the tour guide, runs the art gallery in the center of town and is the organizer of the art scene in town. It was a really interesting and enjoyable experience and the murals and other art pieces were very nice. A few of the murals were animated with assistance of a virtual reality phone app - really impressive. On a personal note, Tito himself is a pretty impressive and enthusiastic guy who really is driving the art scene there and we really enjoyed our time chatting with him. Tito is literally the host with the most! We showed up 30mins late and he still accommodated us. He knows everyone, speaks all the languages and show a deep love for the area and ppl in this community. The murals are amazing and I can't wait to see more local (Black) artists contributing to the narrative. San Nicholas is a beautiful place that everyone should visit when in Aruba., besides just venturing to Baby Beach. From O'Neil's Restaurant and Massive 103.5 Radio, there's greatness to learn and experience. Our Black communities are often wanted and neglected all over the globe; this place is a gem and deserves support! I hope Tito and his mission to highlight art in this historical district creates learning, engagement, funding, and tourism for the ppl who live, work and breath San Nicholas everyday. I plan to share this tour, and area, with my artist collectives so they too can experience the magic!

Fantastic street art tour by our guide Tito. This St Nicholas tour deserves more recognition. You can see the art in St Nicholas for free, however, Tito is the actual person who commissioned all the art around the town center, and has an obvious passion for art. He had stories about every piece (50+ murals), for example, the artist who painted it, where they are from, thoughts behind the art and a story about how Tito had the art commissioned. It was a very personable tour with Tito. My wife and I were lucky enough to be alone on the tour in the afternoon and Tito is trilingual (maybe more) and he was willing to give the tour in both Spanish and English without asking. Brilliant guy.

6.28.2021 We were very disappointed - driver never showed up I thought I missed the driver so we took a taxi which cost us an additional $100 to the location and was dropped off only then to find an email from the guide saying he was under the weather. Although the murals were interesting as we walked around by our selves we never knew the story. Not knowing the location or neighborhood it felt a little unsafe. Please know we did receive a full refund except for my $100.

We had the pleasure of taking the art mural tour in San Nicolaas with the amazingly entertaining and knowledgeable Tito. There is no way we would have experienced the murals completely without taking this tour. Tito is a dynamo who is not only making mural art a reality for Aruba, but he is also bringing it alive for those of us who are visitors. The murals are not only beautiful but also incredibly unique, as are the artists behind them. We learned about the meaning of the murals themselves, the history of San Nicolaas, the culture of Aruba, those working with him on this project, and much more. A couple of the murals also involve technology such as augmented reality, something which you cannot tell by just looking at them. Tito supplied us with all of the backstories which are very interesting. It was a lot of walking, for which we were prepared, but well worth it. We highly recommend taking the Aruba Mural Tour!
