Traveler Reviews

Jenny was very engaging and had a deep understanding of Jack the Ripper as well as Victorian London. The photos she uses really help set the scene, as many of the buildings have changed over time. The Victorian costume was a nice touch too. Be warned! The walk is rather brisk and the tour is over two hours long and goes into quite a lot of (sometimes grizzly) detail, which may not be for everyone. We started the tour at Aldgate Tube Station and finished by Liverpool Street Station. Great experience overall, would recommend!

My husband and myself are so glad we braved the cold to take on this tour with Jenny, she was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Loved her Victorian dress, which added to the experience. Fantastic tour would highly recommend.

Myself along with my finance and her parents absolutely loved this tour and will definitely be looking to do the other ones that they have available. The tour guide Jenny was fantastic and you could tell how passionate she was about Ripper which bought the whole experience to life. Couldn’t recommend enough!

We took this tour via a Virgin experience. After an excellent fish and chips supper we met our tour guide Jenny Phillips at Algate underground station. Jenny, a little lady decked out in Victorian garb, took us on our tour. Jenny has been doing these tours for nearly 30 years and her knowledge is extraordinary. I myself know a bit about these grisly crimes but Jenny managed to bring the past and the people of Whitechapel vividly to life. She's a no nonsense lady and was passionate and occasionally funny as she gave her own expert insight into Jack the Ripper and the conditions of London's east end a hundred and fifty years ago. I cannot recommend this walk highly enough. Be warned Jenny doesn't hold back when describing the victims and Jacks crimes she is armed with photos of the victims. The walk takes around two and a half hours so you get you money's worth. Also wear comfortable shoes .

Walk the dark streets of Whitechapel in the footsteps of the world's most infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper. With expert guidance from Jenny a renowned ripperologist, you are taken back to the events of 1888 with macabre detail. See the places that you've only ever heard of, mitre square, hanbury street, miller's court and more. We have had an amazing evening with Jenny and this tour is worth every penny. A truly fascinating insight into Victorian poverty, justice and crime. Absolutely brilliant wish I could give 10 stars.
