Traveler Reviews

Had a wonderful time snorkeling the bay. The captain and Maya were great although we managed to take a bit of a beating getting over to the bay. The snorkeling was amazing and they really helped me feel comfortable in the water and made sure I had a wonderful experience. 10/10 would recommend.

We had a blast! Rick and Maya took good care of us and made sure it was the best experience for everyone. Prepare for a rough ride but that is part of the fun. First humpback whales of the season!

I would highly recommend a Kona Zodiac Adventure tour with Captain Rick as your captain if possible. We were able to book a private tour for four of us to Kealakekua Bay. On our way to the bay Capt Rick took us on a quick water tour of Kona providing historical facts and pointing out local monuments. When we arrived at Kealakekua Bay, Capt Rick was able to get us into part of the bay that was less traveled and we saw the most variety of fish we have ever seen. After snorkeling we had a much needed snack with fresh fruit, cold drinks and more interesting information about The Big Island. On our way back to port Capt Rick was able to get us into several sea caves and give us the history behind rock formations and lava flows. Captain Rick was informative, an excellent navigator and was attentive to our needs the entire trip. Thanks Captain Rick!

As first time experiencing snorkeling, my wife and I didn't know what to expect. We were extremely happy with our entire experience. Checking in was easy and fast. Tre (spelling) was very helpful and answered the 50 questions I had with a smile. Captain Rick was thoroughly knowledgeable and made the five-hour experience feel like less than an hour. Captain Rick made the trip to and back from Captain Cook's Memorial enjoyable by making frequent stops to point out historical and natural markers. By far, the best part of the trip was the snorkeling. Amazing reefs and sea life. I highly recommend this tour to anyone, especially first timers.

I didn’t realize we were going to be on a raft and in the middle of the ocean as we flew across the way to get to the bay. It was very rough that day which I know was not Captain Zodiacs fault. But you have to hold onto the raft the whole time. So it wasn’t like being on a boat. Not very relaxing. But Captain Zodiac people did the best they could. We cut our trip short as it was too rough to continue to the second snorkeling spot.
