I had the initial OMG moment as we walked down the grassy hill to this site. Then I had a few more as we walked the grounds. Incredible reconstruction of this ruin. And by all means, take a guide. There's so much history and such great stories that you want to hear it all. Try to get there early so you can enjoy the peaceful meditative space.

LLegamos a Uxmal, y nuestra guía particular (Alicia) nos llevó por un viaje en el tiempo para empaparnos de la cultura maya; muy interesante y educativo.
En la Hacienda, sentimos que entramos en el siglo XIX; los peones con sus ropa de manta y sombreros de paja, utilizando maquinaria original para explicarnos todo el proceso del henequén tal y como se hacía en 1850. La hacienda está restaurada como era originalmente. El guía local excelente, nos explicaba con mucho entusiasmo cada fase del proceso. Al final, puedes comprar artesanías hechas por las comunidades indígenas de alrededor, ayudando a la economía del lugar y preservando una tradición centenaria.
