Overview
ItineraryThe tour starts when you’re picked up by your local guide in a comfortable and air-conditioned minivan. As we journey to the where the hike begins, in the island’s interior, you will traverse villages and get a chance to learn about the island’s rich history and culture. Before we hike, we make a stop at the Grand Etang Lake and rainforest, in Grenada's largest national park to take in the beautiful scenery. After this scenic stop, we take drive a short drive to an old agricultural estate where the fun begins. The hike takes about 1-hour each way, on an often muddy trail. For much of the time you are going down a path cut into one side of a huge valley. You will see lots of bird life and, occasionally, monkeys. See two waterfalls cascading into perfect swimming pools. Fish and crayfish dart around in the river. Don’t worry they won’t bite. You are free to swim in one or both of them. If you choose to swim in the cool river waters, you will feel wonderfully refreshed and rejuvenated. It is a perfect place to swim, relax or just enjoy the tranquility. Once you’ve had enough fun, we hike back to the awaiting minivan, head down the mountain, and back to your hotel/port.

Traveler Reviews

Lion was an amazing tour guide, he was so kind and patient with us as we hiked down a very slippery slope. We had a great time swimming in the lagoon at the waterfall and watching the young folks who climbed to the top and jumped off! It was a thrilling experience. We felt so safe with Lion. He’s also a comedian in the style of Chris Rock, so we were laughing pretty much the whole time!

We had a great tour with Michael as our guide in Grenada. We saw all of the highlights and beauty that Grenada has to offer as well as the opportunity to get off the beaten path and hike into the rain forest. Michael's’ knowledge of the island is impressive from history through plants, spices and fauna, which added even more to the experience. I would definitely recommend spending a day with Henry Safari Tours!
