You will see some of her most important works of art and learn where she was born and also where she died. Although after marrying Diego Rivera she lived in different places of Mexico City, and abroad, she always went back to her old house in Coyoacan. Diego Rivera stated in his will that the home had to be donated, as well as all its contents, in order to turn it into a museum to honor Frida's life.The museum contains a collection of artwork by Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and other artists along with the couple’s Mexican folk art, pre-Hispanic artifacts, photographs, memorabilia, personal items, and more. The collection is displayed in the rooms of the house which remains much as it was in the 1950s. It is the most popular museum in Coyoacán and one of the most visited in Mexico City. Additional to the contents in the house, you can watch a short video to get a better idea of the painter's point of view on life. It's also worth taking a small walk across the garden, completely enclosed by the four sides or wings of the structure.
