Traveler Reviews

The Odyssey Japan instructors were very friendly and guided us through each dish in an engaging and accessible way. It was extremely rewarding to eat the delicious meal we prepared at the end of the class. Highly recommended to anyone interested in learning more about Japanese cuisine and its rich history!

Again, I was amazed with the friendly and cheerful instructors. Attending for the second time was really rewarding as I could notice my modest improvements in shaping the artistic Sushi roll. I had a lot of fun preparing and eating new delicious dishes.

From the very start, this food experience was a positive one! We were greeted at the station and brought to the venue as a group, no one getting lost in a huge city. Every detail was taken care of and the instructors worked as a friendly, fun team. The food we made was artful and healthy, sophisticated and yet, felt like special, elevated home cooking, thanks to the instruction and ingredients used. Certainly, this is a class for Tokyo visitors, but it offers enough interesting elements that any local would also be thrilled to partake! It was hands-on and a total sensory experience! Well done, Odyssey Japan! You have created a winning opportunity for anyone who loves food! I can see this for individuals, friends, couples, team-building, and whole groups of families! Very special and delicious!

I thought I knew a thing or two about Japanese cooking but I learned so much! The instruction was clear and detailed and accompanied by recipes. The Japanese instructors spoke excellent English and were so friendly and helpful. The menu was diverse, balanced and delicious. All participants had a chance for hands-on cooking and the atmosphere was congenial. This class is perfect for people who are interested in cooking and Japanese culture.

First impressions last. When I arrived at the venue, the instructors greeted our group with fantastic smiles and warmth. I felt so welcome. The class was extremely well done, quality ingredients and in a beautiful venue. The instructors explained about the different ingredients and we were able to ask questions along the way. The menu was just right, not too easy, not overly difficult but a bit of a challenge here and there; with lots of good humor thrown in. If you want to learn about Japanese cooking and try some special art sushi, with fantastic staff, I highly recommend this cooking school.
