Traveler Reviews

This was a really unique Kona tour. I’ve been coming to the islands for years and this was my first ghost tour ever. Zach has so much knowledge of the history of the island and culture. You can tell he is really respectful and passionate about the ancestors and spirits of the island. You leave having a better understanding of the history that happened right on Ali’i. Great tour!

Zach was absolutely delightful. Very nice, courteous and had a few good "dad" style jokes. The tour went a little over the 9pm end time, which was fine with us. Both my party and another customers party were large and we all had comments and curious questions about the locations. Zach was kind in answering everyone. Zach seems very passionate about the history of the area and he was very respectful of the land, culture and respectful of the oral history. Overall good tour, you will get an oral history of the area, a light paranormal investigation and light walking. Bring water, it’s hot and humid.

Great to hear the history of how Kona was settled. Zach has a lot of knowledge and is very great telling the history.

I did the ghost tour last Sunday. It was a fun experience and an interesting way to learn some local history and tune into the local "vibe". Zach knows how to bring the group together and give it a sense of cohesion. I felt connected with the group of strangers I had just met for a tour hour tour, which is what struck me most.

I have gone on a few ghost tours but none have been as great as the Kona Haunted Hele was. My aunt and I did the Hilo tour a few days prior and liked it so much that on our same trip we booked the tour in Kona as well. The owner Zach is very passionate about the history of Kona and has so much knowledge about Kona’s spirits. During our tour we were able to use different ghost hunting equipment. We were able to connect with some spirits, an experience I will never forget. Not only does Zach teach us about the spirits of Kona he also teaches about having respect for the land and the spirits.
