Overview
ItineraryThis is a typical itinerary for this productStop At: Miravalles Volcano, Area de Conservacion Guanacaste Costa RicaDuring this day trip you will be able to see the smoke, hot stones and crystallized sulfur among other scenic beauties of the Miravalles Volcano. An untamed mountain covered in rainforest will let us safely visit the only walk-able crater in Costa Rica. The first stop on the drive to the volcano, will be to visit one of the country's most beautiful waterfalls Llanos del Cortez see picture profile  (Additional charge $7 cash adult- $4 cash children) and if you would like to, you can bring your swimsuits and swim under the majestic water curtain. Next stop will be the crater at Miravalles, where you will see lots of geothermal activity and sense the mighty power from below us. You will have a volcanic mud bath and relax in the hot springs before lunch and then you will experience the tropical rainforest on a moderate hike along some breathtaking hanging-bridges and three more waterfalls ( Included on the package). This is a day full of waterfalls and volcano experience. Bubbling mud pools: The bubbling mud pools are holes that contain clay mud. These mud pools, which also have sulfured thermal waters, all have different temperatures:176º, 212º and 392º F (80º, 100º and 200ºC). This mud is odorless and can be found in three different colors: gray, brown and yellow. The coloration indicates how deep the pool is: The brown mud indicates a depth of two meters, the gray mud a depth of one meter and the yellow mud indicates the mud is from the surface and is full of sulfur. You can select the clay in which you want to bath and then obtain it from the bubbling mud pool. Whilst waiting 15 or 20 minutes for the clay to cool you down, you can enjoy one of the greatest marvels in the world. After bathing in this volcanic mud your skin will be left feeling fresh and smooth. What to bring? Don't forget your swimming suit, hiking shoes, sandals, change of clothing, binoculars, camera, sunblock, money and a hat.Hotel pick up:Andaz Costa Rica Resort At Peninsula Papagayo, Peninsula Papagayo Final de la Ruta 253 Costa RicaFour Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo, Peninsula Papagayo Costa RicaPlanet Hollywood Beach Resort Costa Rica, Playa Manzanillo, Culebra Costa RicaSecrets Papagayo Costa Rica, Playa Arenilla Costa RicaEl Mangroove, Autograph Collection, Panama Beach, Playa Panama 50503 Costa RicaCondovac la Costa, 400 Metros Norte de la Iglesia Catolica Club & Condovac, Playa Hermosa 000011 Costa RicaHermosa Heights Villas, 200 meters north of Century 21 Office, Playa Hermosa Costa RicaHotel Riu Palace Costa Rica, Playa Matapalo Sardinal Carrillo - Guanacaste, Sardinal Costa RicaHotel Coco Beach & Casino, Main St., Playas del Coco Costa RicaOcotal Beach Resort, Playa del Coco PO Box 1, Playa Ocotal Costa RicaDuration: 7 hoursPass By: Playa Hermosa, Playa Hermosa, Province of GuanacasteWe pick and any hotel /Rental home to Miravalles volcano Pass By: Playas del Coco, Playas del Coco, Province of GuanacasteWe pick and any hotel /Rental home to Miravalles volcano Pass By: Playa Panama, Playa Panama, Gulf of Papagayo, Province of GuanacasteWe pick and any hotel /Rental home to Miravalles volcano Pass By: Playa Ocotal, Playa Ocotal, Province of GuanacasteWe pick and any hotel /Rental home to Miravalles volcano Pass By: Hotel Riu Guanacaste, Playa Matapalo, RIU Guanacaste Route, Guanacaste Province, Sardinal District, 60602, Costa RicaWe pick and any hotel /Rental home to Miravalles volcano

Traveler Reviews

My husband and I went on two tours through this company.. The Palo Verde River Safari and the Miravalles with Carlos as our tour guide. Carlos and his teams were great!! Carlos is so knowledgeable and was accommodating throughout!! He ensured that everyone was happy, comfortable and enjoyed themselves. The different teams he worked with were also very caring and accommodating. The lunches provided were great and the rides to and from the locations were comfortable. With all of the information I learned from Carlos, I feel like Costa Ricas model could save the WORLD!!! These are experiences I will never forget. Thank you so much for a wonder experience.

We had just finished our ATV tour when we learned that Carlos (our ATV tour guide) was also going to be our tour guide to Miravalles and we couldn't be more pleased! Had a lovely trip to the volcano from Playas del Coco and a great adventure from there! Hiking, waterfalls , mud baths, hot springs, hanging bridges, and more! Carlos was also our very our personal photographer and we were able to capture incredible pictures every step of the way. Would recommend this tour and him as a tour guide to anyone visiting the area. You won't be disappointed!!

My husband and I really enjoyed this excursion! Our tour guide, Manrique was AMAZING! Shared so many things with us about Costa Rica and was great conversation the whole trip. We rode up to the rainforest/waterfall hike in a safari-like truck, which we really enjoyed! The hike was awesome with so many places to overlook many waterfalls and the beautiful rainforest. The hike was just long enough to get the full experience, but not too long that you’re exhausted afterwords. Our guide, Manrique, offered to take so many pictures for us - they turned out great! Once we finished the hike, we rode the Safari truck back to the place where there is a volcanic crater. This is where you take a mud bath and then refresh yourself in the hot springs afterwords. Our skin was actually soft after our mud bath! We finished off this wonderful trip with a delicious lunch that consisted of rice, beans, meat, salad, and plantains. Truly a once in a lifetime experience and would recommend this

Eduardo was a great driver, and the tour was excellent. We saw some beautiful waterfalls and got to walk across some incredible suspended bridges. The lunch was more authentic than our visit to Coco Beach! The mud bath and hot springs were a unique experience.
