Made famous by such authors as Peter Mayle and Jean Viard, it has been a meeting place for the people of the city centre for over a century. Here, all generations and types of people rub shoulders, from the all-night partier looking for a bite to eat in the early morning to the average person come to do their shopping, without forgetting the chefs from the best restaurants who buy their produce here. We did the tour in mid October. We were lucky with the weather, great conditions to start the tour with Christopher! Christopher is a great tour guide. He showed us paths off the beaten track, provided detailed historical information combined with contemporary insight knowledge about Avignon, so that in the end, after a few hours we felt like we knew so much more of the city now. The Pope Palace tour can be very long and tiring if you use only the headphones guide, but Christopher knew where to set the highlights die go his experience not only with the Palace but also with his tourists. We had a tour in Aix in the rain with our teenage son, which he handled as well as the tour in Avignon with the two of us as a couple. Also it is Great chatting to him over coffee and lunch. We would always book Ooh Provence again!

My husband and I loved our entire day with Christopher guiding us through the streets of Avignon and Palais des Papes. His enjoyment of doing what he loves made our experience even more special. We loved having the extra history and information that Chris imparted and his relaxed pace and personable style endeared us to him and the area.

My daughter and I had the opportunity to visit Avignon in early January, and Chris was an excellent guide. He was knowledge and personable and made our short time in the area very memorable. I highly recommend OohProvence, and I look forward to touring with them again.
