During our visit to the Algarve, we were looking for a local tour experience hosted by locals. João's Tuk Tuk tour of Tavira was a good choice. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. He knows everything there is to know about Tavira! We enjoyed listening to his commentary on Tavira's salt industry, churches, culture and history. We ended the tour at Ji Maria, a local tapas bar which was a great experience. Overall, we had a great time and will recommend this.

We had a wonderful evening exploring Tavira with Joao in the tuk tuk. He explained the rich history of Tavira and was so passionate about this beautiful area. We finished with the most delicious tapas in Ti Maria. This tour is a must if visiting Tavira!

Great experience,
Joao was very informed and showed us almost everywhere of interest in tavira.
Even visited the salt flats and told us all about them and bought some flower salt.
Tapas and wine in Ti Maria’s were delicious but definitely a full meal rather than snack

This is a fantastic tour! We really enjoyed touring the beautiful city of Tavira with Maria's Tuk Tuks. Our guide was so friendly and full of knowledge about the city. We saw all the main sites and even made notes to go back to a few spots if we have time. This tour is a great way to see so much of Tavira and learn about the ancient history of the city. Our guide was so generous with time and knowledge and really personalised the experience. The tapas afterwards was delicious and we highly recommend this experience! We also loved the polaroid photo with the tuk tuk we got as a keepsake.
