Aki was a very experienced and fun guide. All the places he took me too were away from the touristy areas and the food and drinks were all delicious. Had a great time on this tour, would definitely recommend!

Not only did I finish this experience with Akira very full (and a bit drunk) but I finish with a group of new friends! Akira organizes a great set of food stops that are all absolutely delicious. The best part is the social atmosphere that this creates. It obviously varies every day and will be different based on when you go and who else is on the tour, but our group was amazing. My husband, our friend and I had Aki for a foodie tour around Ueno mid-December. We were joined by 2 other fun folks on a tour of 4 different spots for a night of eating, drinking, eating and more drinking! Aki was very friendly, personable and fun. He explained some of the Japanese culture throughout the night and provided some useful tips for the rest of our trip — as well as for future trips because we definitely plan on coming back! We highly recommend having Aki show you around if you are considering it. This was my third time back in Tokyo so I was looking to experience the city through more local interactions. The walking tour with Akira definitely didn't disappoint! The food and drinks were excellent (no surprises since Akira has been in the gastronomy line for years), the pace was very relaxing, and it was nice to be in a small, cozy group trying new things together. I was so stuffed at the end but super happy with all the food I had tried. Highly recommend the tour for solo and/or small-group travellers who are looking for a little something to experience something intimately local in a big busy city like Tokyo.
