It was a surprise birthday gift for my partner, currently working and living in Tokio, and Maki was lovely and helpful. She prepared something special for the birthday and he enjoyed and learnt so much. I would highly recommend the experience and hope to be able to travel to Japan and enjoy it myself. My friend and I went to do the calligraphy class and had a fantastic time. Maki was so kind and an excellent teacher! I love the calligraphy I was able to take home and have in my apartment. The location is also very close to Shibuya so it's very easy to get to. I would absolutely go back again with friends!

Maki-Sensei welcomed my friend and me into her home for a wonderful Shudo class. We spent time learning about Japenese characters (Kanji, Hiragana, Katakana) while practicing calligraphy with special brushes, ink and paper. We really enjoyed the opportunity to create our own little pieces of calligraphy art to take home and remember this day. Maki-Sensei is extremely welcoming, kind and knowledgeable about Shudo. We are going to recommend this class to family and friends traveling to Tokyo.
