Wowza, this is such an amazing experience, just like flying the real thing. Great for spectators also, we were even offered a cheeky little Pinot noir. Get yourself down there it’s so much fun and value for money

What a fantastic experience. The setup, including real aircraft cockpits is incredible, and Craig was very generous with his time and expertise which made it even more memorable. You really feel like you are flying a Spitfire, or a near-supersonic F-18 at 200 ft! Highly recommended!

The Aviator experience is a must do if you are in the Bay of Plenty area. In fact if you are in New Zealand full stop! The F/A 18C Hornet motion cockpit is the most immersive and realistic simulation I have ever been on. There is nothing like it. Putting the VR glasses on was like stepping into another world and combined with the full motion cockpit, just incredible. The feeling of rolling down the taxiway felt so realistic, the uneven surface of the runway and vibrations of the motor. It felt like I was a real fighter pilot in a real fighter jet. Every bump and every shake. Taking off was a whole other experience as well, it genuinely felt like I was going 200km/h! Dogfighting the two MIG 29’s made my adrenaline pump. Going upside down, turning left, turning right, going up and going down, looking for the enemy planes. It all felt real. A professional pilot and self confessed aviation nut, I loved my recent visit to the Aviator Experience. I flew several different combat missions in the Spitfire and also low level flying in the mountains in the F18 simulator. The combination of the VR headset and the physical cockpit make flying both very immersive, realistic and extremely addictive activities. Craig is an excellent host and coach and I highly recommend this for anyone, but particularly those with a love of aviation.
