Traveler Reviews

I had to shout it out. I have not been on a better tour than this. Ever. Jian provided not only an evening full of insight and information but also let me experience some unusual local foods. I will not spoil the surprise by describing what is offered as you need to taste and guess what it may be. Not only were the contents of each dish described but also the context in which it was served. A few local cold beers helped the food go down. If you want a relaxed evening, with a professional and all round nice guy experiencing some interesting local food i would highly recommend this tour. For the amount and range of food you get this tour was great value for money.

Jian is the man. I love taking food tours whenever I visit an Asian country, and his did not disappoint. He introduces you to an excellent cross section of bites you'll be able to find all over the islands, gives you their history and a few fun personal stories about them to boot. I’m still laughing over why they’re called “walkmen,” :D. He's passionate about his country's culinary traditions and eager to share that love with his guests. As we discussed during the tour, in the great smorgasbord of SE Asian food, the Philippines are criminally underrepresented, and he's here to fix that. He'll also give you some solid advice on how to get the most out of your time here. Bring an empty stomach, do it your first day in Manila and tip the man twice.

This is a market not to be missed. All Street food from various countries, all very good quality. Go by cab into the heart of BGC. We'll worth a trip.

I had limited time yet wanted to experience 'authentic' Manila in a safe way. The guide was knowledgeable, welcoming and extremely helpful. The food was great, the sights and sounds awesome. This tour is a total experience; yet I felt safe throughout. I can't recommend highly enough, nor express my gratitude to the host for the knowledge he shared.

Bring an open mind to this vibrant night-time street food tour! This is a great tour to learn about a country’s culture and how it has influenced the everyday staples of street-food. As a westerner, much of what we ate was out of my comfort zone. However, with some liquid courage in the form of local beers and the encouragement of our guide Jian, I tried all that was offered, and to my surprise, all of it tasted really good! This truly is a culinary adventure and I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone- you might surprise yourself!
