Traveler Reviews

This is such a gem of a tour. Highly recommended. We should be so proud of this amazing stadium. Such a good value tour as well. Even if you are not a sports fan it is interesting & the volunteer tour guide. Bob, was awesome.

Adelaide Oval has the reputation for being Australia's most most beautiful stadium. Rather than being a coloseum like the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), it resembles an English county cricket ground. Its main functions are to host Test cricket and Australian Football League (AFL) matches. Following the recent upgrade, it is certainly more attractive for spectators. This year, the Oval will host an Ashes Test with England, amongst other games. By the way, the scoreboard is a well-known feature of the Oval. Entering the ground may take longer than previously due to Covid precautions.

I have been playing or watching cricket for around 60 year and I have lived in Victoria, NSW & Queensland so the G, the SCG and the Gabba have been my local grounds. I have been to the cricket at Adelaide a couple of times and with the opportunity to do a tour of the stadium, ground etc as part of the Indian Pacific train crossing I took the tour. First stop on the tour right inside the entrance was the - Bradman Collection. Most all people from the worlds cricket playing countries will know who The Don is - my dear wife included. There are lots of his personal collectables, all his records but also many videos, interviews and other memorabilia. On we go through the Score Board. For those of us who are from an era 'pre- electronics' and like the 'relic' cricket scoreboards a tour through here to see how they operate all the numbers and lights is absolutely fascinating. The SCG and the Adelaide Oval scoreboards are constructed and operate pretty much the same. They were built using 'stu

Wonderful and beautiful stadium. Small groups which was good. 2 lovely ladies as the guides. We was there to see the cricket. Saw the old score boards which I love. Went inside the old stand.( Make my day) Found my favourite player name we took a photo of that. (I was over the moon). My husband did the roof climb had a Fab time. Loads of photo's . More AFL items. Couldn't sit in stadium. Didnt stop for toilet break

Lovely guide who shared his love and knowledge of cricket. Our group was lucky while entering the historic scoreboard to be shown it's workings by an actual user
