On a passé un très bon journée avec Nico et profité d'un tour du Camargue. On a vu toutes les choses que nous voudrions mais nous souhaitons y retourner encore.

We had a wonderful day visiting the Pont de Gau nature reserve, Aigues Mortes and Stes Maries de la Mer. The highlight for me was seeing the flamingoes and various types of heron, as well as coypus. Nico also told us a lot about the local way of life and stopped at a farm for us to see horses and bulls. He was very informative about bull fighting and the differences between Spanish and Camargue bulls. We stopped at each place for just the right amount of time. The van was air-conditioned, which was great as it was very hot. We would not have been able to visit the Pont de Gau on public transport.

I booked this excursion directly with PROVANS, for myself and my 17 year old son, as part of our short break in Provence. We are hikers and enjoy open water swimming. My son is a keen bird-watcher and I have always wanted to visit The Camargue with him. As I organised this late summer holiday at the last minute, almost all TripAdvisor-rated excursions were fully booked for the one day that we could squeeze it in (Thursday 28th August). I emailed several tour organisers and PROVANS was the only one to reply - they normally run thus tour on Tuesdays only but added an extra date for us. Out of season, we would quite possibly have been the only customers. However, Provans notified me that they had filled the tour, but kindly reserved the best seats in the minibus for us, so George had a full frontal view of the Camargue as our wonderful guide, Nico, drove us through it. We had a lovely day driven and guided by Nicolas. He was helpful, flexible and thoughtful. The wildlife area was superb, with large flocks of flamingoes, many other species of birds and other wildlife. The towns visited were unique and interesting, and we had clear information and plenty of time in each. Thanks Nicolas
