Traveler Reviews

Roland, our walking, food and culinary guide is not just a wonderful communicator, but he is very welcoming, and made us feel so comfortable from the beginning of our tour. He asked important questions, i.e., did we have any food allergies, or any foods we did not like, and if we wanted alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. He explained each of the five courses we would experience, and the special historical places in which we would enjoy our food tour, and their significance to each course. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Roland! He made the whole experience a truly delightful memory! Note: Food portions are generous, so arrive hungry!

Roland was an amazing guide! He was so very knowledgeable and passionate about Viennese food, culture and history. We did this food tour on our first night in the city and couldn’t have had a better introduction to Vienna. All our stops were within walking distance of the city center. Be sure to come with an appetite because you will be stuffed by the time the tour is over. We had everything from decadent chocolates to hearty Austrian classics, to coffeehouse fare, to Viennese street food. Absolutely wonderful experience that I would highly recommend for anyone visiting the city for the first time.

We had a great experience with Rolland - the best and knowledgeable guide you can expect on this kind of a tour. The food was amazing, and very plantyfull. Highly recommended!

This tour was fantastic and I highly recommend it, not only for the food but for the feeling that you're living like a local who is justifiably passionately in love with this city. Roland took us to five places to eat for a nice variety of food, drinks, and atmosphere. All of it was delicious and interesting--well paired with wine or beer although non alcoholic is also available--especially with his stories about its history and significance and the region where that item came from. We went from hole in the wall to foodie-chic to traditional and hearty (in the oldest building in Vienna) to street food (sausage stand) to a 'first wave' coffee shop with amazing deserts, then a post-feast walk to some historical gems hidden in plain sight. He's a hilarious and fascinating guy and honestly goes all out to make you fall in love with Vienna in a whole new way. Make sure you come hungry.

My wife and I always try to do a food walk our first night in a city we haven’t visited yet. It’s a perfect way to explore the city and eat where the locals do. This food walk did not disappoint! Roland, our guide, did a superb job showing us the sites. He likes to keep the group small, in total just 6 of us for last nights tour. We went to 5 different places where we enjoyed appetizers at two places, dinner at a hidden historical restaurant, street food and lastly finishing at a wonderful coffee house. All along the way he explained the sites, the history behind them and we even got to see Roman ruins. To top it off he followed up with an e-mail detailing additional sites to visit and places to eat to while in town. If it doesn’t seem evident by now... I just have to say, my wife and I highly recommend it!
