ItineraryAfter checked in, we will have a 45min-1 hour instructional session both in classroom and in heated pool. You will learn the basic skills of SCUBA! Once you have completed this portion, you will proceed to Wailoa Boat Harbor. There you will be briefed and on your way to two of our beautiful dive sites. You will take a 30 minute boat ride out and 30 minute ride back. Each dive will be approximately 45 minutes with another boat ride to the second dive site.

This was a great introductory Scuba class. Trixie our master diver spent the time with us to understand the basics of Scuba. We were able to test our skills in a heated pool. Kiko was our boat operator who is a very experienced diver. He was very skilled at driving the boat because on this day there were some very high waves in the sea. He took us to safe diving spot away from the weather. Trixie made sure all the equipment was set up correctly and made sure we felt comfortable in the water. I felt very safe the whole time. I intend to pursue certification after this experience.

We got caught up in the inter island quarantine as we didn’t realize we needed to retest in the islands. This company gave us a full refund even though they didn’t have to. I can’t say how much that bit of grace helped. This group clearly cares about its customers. We will be back. And we will send as many your way as possible.

It was my first time of scuba diving ever, Doug explained to me the fundamental of diving with tanks and suit, then after I practiced in the pool in place, we went to ocean with captain Kimo, he is very nice man. Doug my trainer and I dived twice. it was amazing watching creature in the deep ocean, big turtle and beautiful fishes.
The way we came back Captain Kimo spent some time to watch Whale passing by the boat. I never seen Whale that close. It was one my best day on the Island.
Overall I liked the Hilo Ocean Adventure team. They are very Friendly and want you have a good experience. I totally recommend.

We had a fantastic introduction to scuba diving with Hilo Ocean Adventures. Our instructor Jeff requested that we come in early as we were complete beginners and his instruction was very thorough and detailed. The dive spots were gorgeous with abundant sea life and Kimo was a great guide and boat captain. Highly recommend diving with Hilo Ocean Adventures!
