I was pretty disappointed with this tour, I feel that the experience that we got we could have toured the town on our own. We walked so slow we were tripping on each other, the tour guide spent a ton of time translating in to French (which is fine, but this was an English tour and the constant translation back to French just added additional time.) Other thing was the tour guide kept lighting his cigarette, which is fine it is Europe and I understand that, however we had to walk ahead or behind to avoid his smoke being blown in our faces. Unless you want to avoid using public transit and want this trip for simplicity, I would say do a day trip on your own.. our personal time to explore was the best!
This was an amazing trip for two friends who want to see more of a country. The tour guide Stephan was so great, made sure to talk to all guests and made everyone laugh. He also made sure everyone could hear his facts and instructions all day. A long day but very worth while, he showed us a lot of hidden gems as well as having a lovely boat ride for €10 extra. Great for all ages as long as you have a pram for when the young children get tired.
This was such a fun trip! The tour was set up perfectly. As others have mentioned it does start with a brisk walk from the office to the bus, but after that the pace of the tour guide was just right. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the region and gave great information about Bruges and Belgium in general. The optional boat ride was very fun and absolutely should not be skipped. We had 3 hours of free time after the tour and that was just the right amount of time to take lunch and do a bit of shopping or exploring on our own. We never felt rushed or overwhelmed while still getting to see quite a bit of this beautiful city. The tour was a good value and is a good way to see Bruges if you are staying in Brussels.
I went with my brother on this day tour and we set off at about 10.15am. There was roadworks on the motorway so the journey took longer to get there but that was fine. What I didn’t realise was that if you didn’t pay the extra 10 Euro for the boat tour you were left to your own devices. My brother and I were the only two who didn’t go so the tour guide brought us down a couple of streets while they rest were on it and gave us directions to the square and told us to be there at 5pm to get the bus back. There was little to none information given about the place itself. We went off ourselves and didn’t see them until we were going home. I wouldn’t have booked if I thought you’d be punished for not spending more after paying 40 Euro.
This tour was not in English, it was in every other language possible. I booked English, not Spanish, French, or dutch.
